You ever just hop in the car, ride downtown, and just crave to… be a consumer? Well, I did that recently- it was a fun date with m’love. I spent upwards of 15 minutes flipping through magic the gathering game cards in a shop. I had loads of math and business homework to do, but there I stood, hunting for the perfect card. I ended up spending 6 dollars on a lot of cards. It felt like a great steal that I worked hard to bring home.
I’ve spent many-a-hour scrolling through amazon prime (which I’m now unsubscribed to) to hunt for the perfect lipstick, a gift for my mom, or a toy for our pets… but were those “hunts” as satisfying? Probably not. I didn’t get dressed up for them, I didn’t leave my house… they were convenient! But wow is it easy to mindlessly spend money.
When you ask me, I’d definitely rather stay home. But when I think of which experience I enjoyed more… it was by far the outing with my boyfriend.
Is the hunger for the hunt dying out with this generations technologies? What do you think?
